Weeks #722-723 - Anything Goes

Welcome back by, everyone. We're getting a very late start this week, indeed. My Mom is struggling right now, so I'm visiting my parents in Minnesota. The cooler temperatures are a welcome change, but I'm incredibly busy right now as I try to coordinate care for Mom (currently hospitalized and coming home soon we hope) and for Dad as they age and struggle with various tasks throughout the day. I praise God that I'm able to be here with them during this time of change. We know that God is always in complete control, and that He will see them through this valley. He always gives us the strength we need to do the work He sets before us.

The scripture for the new word art is Zephaniah 3:17 and it says, "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing". These verses were written by the Prophet, Zephania, to encourage the people of Judah. As he continues to preach to the people and to confidently remind them that God is with them, and that He is there to forgive the sins of their past and bless them as they move forward trusting God and leaning on His wonderful promises. This message is just as true today as it was the day Zephaniah preached it to the people of Judah. God wants to forgive your past (no matter what it is), He wants to be close to you, and God wants to bless you and sing over with you joy. Let these words of God, and ALL of God's Holy Word BLESS your life as you dig in and read verses like this one that can still encourage us and point us to God today. God wants to "save you, to rejoice with you in joy, to give you rest in His great love, and to joy over you with singing". Let God into your heart today and experience what He can do to change and bless your life.

Weeks #720-721 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, creative friends! We hope that you're ready for another FUN new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. You can see that we have another beautiful word art scripture available for FREE download. The verse in focus for this challenge is 1 Timothy 6:6 which says, "But godliness with contentment is great gain". This verse gently reminds us that while living a godly life is a blessing, that living that godly life with contentment (being fully satisfied and grateful for what we currently have/our circumstances) is great gain (a huge blessing). There are many people who attend church. Some people actually go to church every day. Some folks have memorized most (or perhaps even all) of the Bible, some do great works of charity, and some people study God's Word night and day. These are all wonderful (godly) attributes. However, this Bible verse is telling us that, along with all the ways we can live a godly life, being truly content, satisfied and fulfilled with our lives (our circumstances, our ailments, our struggles, the good and bad, etc. by trusting God fully) is one of the greatest joys and greatest gains we can achieve. Life WILL get difficult. But when we learn to fully trust God through it all and remain content, we gain something that the world can't offer. We can gain true happiness, contentment and a level of peace and joy that are SO immense. ONLY GOD can offer that.

Anything Goes - Weeks #718-719

Welcome back by, everyone! Are you all ready for another AWESOME challenge? Well, we've always got something FUN planned, and this challenge is no exception. Our amazing friends at Divinity Designs have generously offered to sponsor us once again. How FUN is that? We also have some lovely art inspiration to get you started, a brief devotional to encourage you, and lots of great FUN for all. Let's jump right into our new challenge, shall we?

Our scripture of focus is 2 Thessalonians 3:16 which reads, "Now the LORD of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The LORD be with you all". These words, when originally penned, were written by the Apostle Paul to the Church at Thessalonica. Paul was speaking to the people about their need for peace in their lives. Wow! What they needed then is what we still strive for today....peace. This is not "world peace", but rather, this is the peace (the calmness and control) in our hearts and in our daily lives that ONLY the LORD (God/Jesus) can offer us. This verse tells us that "He will give us peace always and by all means". This means that, because when we ask God into our hearts/lives, He is literally with us ALWAYS and that He will do whatever is needed to comfort us and bring us His peace. Along with the presence of God in our lives, we receive His perfect peace. The Bible describes God's peace as one that "passes all understanding". In times when the world would be going crazy, stressing out, crying and worrying like mad, we have God, and we have PEACE. I saw a sign once that really summed it up nicely. It said.....

NO GOD = NO PEACE

KNOW GOD = KNOW PEACE

We really can know complete peace. By asking God to enter our heart/life and surrendering everything to Him, we not only secure our ETERNAL place with Him in Heaven, but we have God Almighty dwelling in us and providing us with His perfect peace that passes all understanding. What a blessing!
